Nursing Services
Skin Care Essentials Clinical Services has a team of highly-qualified nurses, experienced in dealing with a wide range of medical conditions including wound care, stitch and staple removal following surgery or injury. As well as being highly experienced, our nurses provide a safe, friendly and confidential environment where you are able to freely discuss any health concerns, with full on-site medical backup. They will talk you through each procedure before undertaking any treatment, and can recommend any further treatment that may be necessary. Any personal information shared will be held in confidence and all treatment will be carried out to the highest standards of care.
Wound care and dressing changes
If you have recently sustained an injury requiring a dressing, regular changes may be necessary to promote healing and prevent infection. Some dressings need to be changed every few days, which can be challenging to manage on your own. For wounds that are healing slowly, we offer a range of specialised, non-adherent dressings designed to support recovery and minimise scarring. Our experienced nursing team can perform dressing changes efficiently in a sterile environment. They will also monitor your wound’s progress, provide guidance on care, check for signs of infection, and coordinate swabs, cultures, or specialist referrals if required. (Please note: specialised dressings may incur an additional cost.)
Stitch Removal
If you have stitches that require removal after recent surgery or an injury, whether in the UK or abroad, our experienced nurses can remove them safely and comfortably. During the appointment, the nurse will also assess your wound to ensure it has healed properly and check for any signs of infection.
Staple Removal
If you have surgical staples that need to be removed following recent surgery or an injury, whether in the UK or abroad, our skilled nurses can remove them safely and comfortably. The nurse will also assess your wound to ensure it is healing properly and check for any signs of infection. For more complex cases, please contact us to discuss your needs, and we will advise whether we can provide the appropriate care.
